Rules
The rules of the game of darts are relatively simple and do not require much learning or practice to get used to them. The standard darts target divided into 20 radial sections, which are usually colored in black and yellow (white). In the middle of the dartboard there is a small circle called the bullseye. Hitting the outer bullseye (in green) counts as 25 points and the inner (in red) as 50.
When the darts hit outside the marked fields, but still on the target - the player does not receive points. If the darts fails to hold on to the target after the throw, whether it hits a sector with points or not - the player again does not receive points. Usually the total number of points is calculated after a player throws three darts. That is the end of his turn and it's the opponent's turn.
The highest score possible that a player can achieve per one round is 180. This can happen if all three darts land in the triple 20.
Usually the standardized rules of darts say that at the beginning of each leg players start with 501 points each (sometimes it can be 301 points). Each player must clear his points with each throw and win the first one to reach zero.
If a player has 18 points left, a hit in the sector for 20 points does not bring him victory. The player must hit exactly 18 points to win. This can be done by hitting a double 9 secotr or triple 6 sector, of course there are different combinations and the players choose.
Each Darts game of 501 points (or 301 points) is played over a number of games called legs. A game can also be devided into sets, with each set consisting of 3 legs. The winner in the game is considered to be the player who first reaches the predetermined number of legs or sets.
