Rules
We will briefly present some of the rules of the game Mahjong. As the rules in their detailed version are quite long and can be a bit confusing - we recommend that beginners get to know them well and start with caution in order to get a better idea of what is happening in the game.
Mahjong game sets can vary. The minimum set consists of 136 blocks, but the game is most often played with a set of 144 blocks. Sometimes more can be used. The tiles are divided into several categories - red (chun), green (fa) and white tile (pai pan).
When the game is played with a set of 136 blocks, 17 blocks are dealt to each player. With a set of 144 blocks - players receive 18 blocks each. And when playing with 152 blocks, each player receives 19 blocks.
During the game itself, each player is left with 13 or 16 face up and face down blocks. To do this, when in turn, each player takes one block but discards another of his own. There are different rules that determine what can and cannot be discarded. The idea is for players to make complete set of certain tiles.
At the end of the game, the points that each player has are calculated. To determine the winner after calculating points is quite complicated and requires additional knowledge - that is why often players agree on the method of scoring before the game or simply do not play with points, and the winner is the one who first collects a set of certain blocks.
