One of the most common casino games is Blackjack. It is not difficult to study and, in general, consists of getting a hand with a value of 21 (Blackjack) or the highest hand on the table as close as possible to this value, without exceeding it. Of course, this is only a superficial explanation of the rules for this game - there are still a lot of details, types of bets, strategies and so on. In order to be able to increase your chances of winning, it is good to be fully aware of the type of game you are betting on and all its components.

In the game of Blackjack, there is something called an insurance bet. Every fan of this type of game should understand what it is and how it is used. Many Blackjack players underestimate the chance of using this type of bet. But this way they are wrong, because if you understand what an insurance bet is and how it is used, you have a chance to reduce the casino's in-game advantage. This in turn, leads to improved chances of winning.

Players have the opportunity to place an insurance bet only if the dealer's face-up card is an Ace. The purpose is to secure your bet from a blackjack for the dealer. Then, if the croupier gets a blackjack, you get your insurance bet back, but if the croupier has a hand of another value, you lose your bet. In any case, the game will continue until one of the parties wins or draws.

For example, you bet 10 pounds. The croupier draws a card face up and it is an Ace. Then you can make an insurance bet of 5 pounds. In case you do this, then your total bet will be 15 euro. Given that the croupier has blackjack, then you get your bet of 15 pounds back. But if you have not made an insurance bet and the croupier has blackjack, then you lose your bet, which means that you lose 10 euro.

This is the basic information about this type of bet. Many players don't even take it into account, and some look at the cards of the other players and, in case there are many Kings, Queens, Jacks and 10s, decide not to use it. But it's a good idea, when the dealer's face-up card is an ace, to insure against possible blackjack.
